And then continue on to spend your nights falling asleep while listening to lion roar and hyena call, the sounds of the African bush at night. Then, you awake to the chorus of birds starting even before the sun crests the horizon. It’s magical and what safari in Africa is all about.

Day 1: Arrive Arusha Arriving into Arusha’s Kilimanjaro airport in the late afternoon, you will be greeted upon arrival by our warm, friendly guides. You will be transferred to a nearby hotel to rest and relax after the long international flight. Enjoying a leisurely dinner, notice the sounds and smells of Africa all around you! Overnight Arusha

Day 2: Lake Natron after breakfast you will drive out to Lake Natron. Lake Natron is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world. Home to millions of tiny crustaceans, the lake is a haven for literally thousands of lesser flamingo's and it is one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth.  The area around the lake is dry and desolate.  The strangely beautiful landscape is the attraction in this area.

After and early dinner you will retire for your early wake up call. Overnight Lake Natron.

Day 3: Climb Ol Doinyo Lengai After the early 2am wake up call and drive to the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai, we begin climbing. We will reach the summit around sunrise and spend about 30 minutes soaking in the views and exploring the volcano before descending. Ol Doinyo Lengai, which means "Mountain of God" in the Maa language of the native Maasai people, is a volcano that is part of the greater volcanic system of the Great Rift Valley. It is unique among active volcanoes in that it produces natrocarbonatite lava, which causes it to erupt at significantly lower temperatures than normal lava. The trekking now over, you will be transferred by 4x4 to back to camp for breakfast and a rest.  Your afternoon will be spent exploring the Lake Natron area. Overnight Lake Natron

Day 4-5: Serengeti National Park Enjoy a half-day drive across Tanzania’s heartland, passing red-robed Maasai herding their cattle as well as the Olduvai Gorge, where the oldest hominid fossil was discovered, along the way. Arrive at the famous Serengeti National Park in time for an afternoon game drive, enjoying the mystical, blaze orange sunset as you head to camp. Spend the next two full days rising early to catch the wildlife in peak activity during the early morning hours. After time to relax in the afternoon, journey out as the sun starts to set for an afternoon game drive. Swap stories with fellow safari-goers in camp over hearty dinners and fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush all around you. Overnight Serengeti.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Today you’ll experience first hand what has been called “one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.” The crater is home to an amazing concentration and diversity of wildlife, perhaps most importantly the rare black rhinoceros. Drive down the steep walls of the crater, arriving at the crater floor in time for lunch, viewing wildlife the whole time. Overnight Ngorongoro Conservation Area
