Day and Lodge Stay Rides:

If one of the fast paced multi day trips is not what you are looking for there are several options for day rides or lodge based adventures as well. These options can be ideal for the novice rider or those not wanting to spend as much time in the saddle.

Manyara Ranch Conservancy:

Formed in partnership with the African Wildlife Foundation, Manyara Ranch protects a critical wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks. With only 6 classic safari tents, the ranch is truly your private safari playground. Enjoy horseback riding, game drives in open vehicles and explore the African bush on foot with an armed guide. Visit the local Maasai village who partners with the conservancy.

Singita Grumeti Reserve:

Situated on over 340,000 acres of exclusive-use concession in the Serengeti, Singita Grumeti Reserve offers an unparalleled horseback safari teeming with magnificent wildlife encounters including the “big Five” (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo. In northern Tanzania, Singita Grumeti Reserves spans part of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem, on the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park – Africa’s No. 1 World Heritage Site. Guests can stay at Sasakwa Lodge and take daily rides from the lodge or ride from Sasakwa Lodge to Faru Faru Lodge.

Makoa Farm:

Located south of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Makoa Farm is a fully working coffee plantation with the perfect terrain and scenery for walking, horse-riding or just relaxing. In addition to 25 horses it is home to a variety of interesting and fun animals such as donkeys, pigs, cattle, small four-legged creatures like rabbits and guinea pigs (and others more exotic) and different kinds of poultry and fowl. Over the past 10 years we have been involved in the care, rehabilitation and housing of orphaned, injured, neglected, abused and abandoned wild animals, including hyena, bush pig, warthog, serval and genet cat, greater galago (bush baby), Sykes and Vervet monkey, jackal, different antelope species and many birds of prey, etc.

Many guests will visit Makoa-Farm because they are interested in horses and riding. However, you do not have to ride as there are many other things to do. On Makoa-Farm we can arrange all sorts of activities: in addition to rides in and around the farm, catering for all sorts of different riding abilities we offer excursions, guided hikes, village walks, market visits, etc.
